Installations equipped with a Xanura or X10 home automation system must be fitted with an SFX 40 suppression filter to prevent Xanura / X10 signals from leaving the building and to prevent signals from outside affecting the X10 / Xanura system.
Installation of the filter in the Xanura/X10 system ensures compliance with all EMC requirements.
Suppression filters can be installed immediately behind the main switch of the installation. To connect a suppression filter, phase (L) and neutral (N) need to be available, see diagram 1 of the manual.
If the building houses heavy machinery, for example, their electrical properties may have a dampening effect on the Xanura/X10 signals. If the operation of Xanura/X10 is affected, the suppression filter can be installed between the lighting network and the machine to prevent dampening of the signal, see diagram 2 of the manual.
