- You can use almost every signal as a "trigger" for the SM10: contact closure (relays, switch of alarm keypad), but also any voltage between 6 and 18 V (e.g. doorbell transformer or amplified audio signal).
The SM10 can be used, for instance, to connect your present (non X10 compatible) alarm system to Marmitek X10 modules:
- A magnetic switch can be connected to the SM10, which can be used to turn lights on and off when opening or closing doors and windows.
- The SM10 can be connected to the switch contacts of a light sensor or motion sensor or an (amplified) microphone or humidity sensor in order to activate X10 modules.
- The door switch of your garage door can be connected to the SM10 to automatically switch on the lights when the door opens, etc...
The PH7208 Extra X10 indoor siren can also be controlled using the SM10. Set the mode switch to position 2 and make sure that both units have been set to the same HouseCode.
