The IP Robocam 10 is a colour surveillance camera with a built-in computer that has its own IP address.
This allows you to connect the camera directly to a network and to access it remotely using any PC, even via the internet. That makes the camera ideal for remote surveillance of e.g. your home, shop, waiting room or reception. Also suitable for remotely attending events you would otherwise have to miss, i.e. a newborn grandchild, a school production or an important product launch.
- Large surveillance area:
The camera can be panned or tilted by remote control.
The Pan&Tilt function also makes it possible to panned or tilt the camera remotely, allowing you to view the area in which the camera has been positioned. The resolution and digital zoom can also be adjusted remotely. The software that comes with the camera offers further possibilities to save images onto the hard disk of your PC.
- E-mail notification
The camera can be programmed so that it sends images periodically to your e-mail address. Using the software, the camera can also be programmed so that you receive an e-mail automatically when it detects movement.
- Accessing Cameras Over the Internet
If your home or business LAN is connected to the Internet through a high speed (broadband) Internet connection, with at least 128 kbps upload bandwidth, you can access your cameras by web browser from anywhere on the Internet.
To do this you need to:
- Know your WAN (Internet) IP address. This is the IP address that your Internet Service Provider gives you to access the Internet. It may be static (always the same) or dynamic (can change from time to time).
- Make sure the two ports used by the camera (80 & 1600) are forwarded by your router or gateway to the camera.
- Make sure your camera’s default gateway is set to the LAN (local) IP address of your router/gateway.
FAQ
- Q: Can the camera be installed and work if a firewall exists on the network?
A: If a firewall exists on the network, port 80 is open for ordinary data communication. However, since the camera transmits image data, the default port 8481 is also required. Therefore, it is necessary to open port 8481 of the network for remote users to access the camera.
- Q: Can the Internet Camera be used out-doors?
A: No, the camera is not weatherproof. You can purchase the Outdoor Dome Housing with Heater/Fan to make this camera suitable for outdoor use.
